PVD Coatings Shift Operator - Coatings Department
Location: North-West of Cambridge (Swavesey)
Salary: 25,750 per annum + 10 per night shift + overtime at premium rates
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shifts: Initially days (06:00-14:00) to learn the role, moving to rotating shifts (06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, 22:00-06:00)
A Manpower client, a nationally recognised industrial manufacturing company, is seeking a reliable and motivated operator to join their Coatings department on a temp-to-perm basis, with the role leading to a permanent position after six months. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform coatings production activities including surface preparation, use of jigs and fixtures, coating chamber preparation, testing, and data review
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently following company procedures and quality standards
- Assist with packing, dispatch, fixture maintenance, and housekeeping activities
- Support process improvements, audits, and emergency transport cover as needed
- Follow health and safety and quality management systems compliant with industry standards
Requirements:
- Experience with shift work, including nights
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Physical capability to handle materials and equipment safely
- Ideally some knowledge of coating practices or PVD Coatings (training provided if needed)
- Full UK driver's license preferred
- Forklift license and IT literacy are advantageous
