 Manual Machinist – Miller/Turner

Our client is a long-established and respected precision engineering company, supplying components to a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with strong milling and turning skills to join their team.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual milling and turning machines to produce high-quality, precision-engineered parts to customer specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing parts to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual milling and turning machines.

  • Work from technical drawings to produce one-off and small batch components.

  • Use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.) to ensure dimensional accuracy.

  • Maintain machinery and ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.

  • Work independently and manage workload to meet production deadlines.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in manual milling and turning within a precision engineering environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.

  • Competent in the use of measuring tools and inspection techniques.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
