Warehouse Team Leader

£Negotiable plus benefits

Main Purpose of the Warehouse Team Leader:

To lead the production and warehouse teams, making sure work is carried out safely, accurately, on time, and in full. The role is responsible for keeping inventory records correct, improving processes and efficiencies, reducing costs, and ensuring the site runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties for the Warehouse Team Leader:

  • Recruitment, training & development warehouse & production staff.
  • Allocate and balance workloads to ensure business targets are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain and update works processes and documentation, as well as accurate inventory levels through process control.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and delivered correctly, on time, and in full (OTIF).
  • Lead shopfloor TDM’s and escalate outcomes to the next management tier.
  • Keep all standard operating procedures (SOPs) up to date and followed by the team.
  • Carry out checks, audits, risk assessments and safety measures to ensure a constant safe working environment.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities & collaborate with wider team to find resolutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S policies are adhered to by Warehouse & Production staff.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on safety and efficiency.
  • Encourage team engagement in safety practices, including raising observations, reporting near misses, and contributing to quick Kaizen activities.

Experience, qualifications, skills & qualities required for the Warehouse Team Leader

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a warehouse, logistics, or production leadership role.
  • Good knowledge of warehouse operations, health and safety, and stock control.
  • Experience working to and improving OTIF, LFR, and inventory accuracy targets.
  • Able to use IT systems such as MS Office and ERP/WMS systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Experience in supporting and developing a multifunctional team.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience of working with lean and continuous improvement in a warehouse environment (5S, tiered audits, kaizen etc.)
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Good problem solving and planning skills.

Hours of work for the Warehouse Team Leader:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.45pm Friday 8.30am to 4.15pm

The Production and Warehouse Team Leader post is a permanent post, based in St Neots. The team is around 8, the environment is clean and tidy, friendly and welcoming.
