Mechanical Fitter with Fabrication Experience

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong fabrication skills to join a well-established engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical assembly, fitting, and maintenance of machinery and equipment

  • Fabrication of components using MIG and TIG welding, cutting, and grinding techniques

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering schematics

  • Carrying out fitting and alignment tasks to tight tolerances

  • Working on a range of equipment including conveyors, platforms, pipework, and support frames

  • Conducting inspections and ensuring components meet required specifications

  • Assisting with installation, testing, and commissioning on-site when required

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting

  • Strong fabrication skills including welding (MIG and TIG), cutting, and metalwork

  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

  • Proactive attitude with good problem-solving skills

  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication
