Seeking a versatile and proactive Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting and administrative duties within the organisation. This is a standalone role ideal for someone with a strong accountancy background and hands-on experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of financial accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks (50% accounting / 50% admin & bookkeeping).
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage accounting software.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including communication with debtors and creditors.
- Prepare and submit financial reports and returns to HMRC.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Support payroll and VAT submissions.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors and tax authorities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a sole-charge accounting role.
- Strong accountancy background with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Sage software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Experience in the construction industry is essential. - ANY CANDIDATES WITHOUT EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN A REPUTABLE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WILL NOT BE SHORTLISTED
- Confident communicator with HMRC and financial stakeholders.
