Our client, located near St Albans and Hatfield in Hertfordshire, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for their £30m turnover SME in the Retail, Consumer Goods, Technology, and Manufacturing sectors.
This newly created role offers excellent growth opportunities and will involve managing a finance team of three while providing management information to the Board.
Key responsibilities include month-end group reporting, budgeting and forecasting, working capital management, and overseeing year-end audits.
Candidates should be qualified accountants (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ACMA) or possess relevant experience, with a preference for those with several years of experience in a similar role.
The position offers a competitive salary of £70,000 to £80,000 depending on experience, with hybrid working arrangements available.

Our client, based near St Albans and Hatfield in Hertfordshire (Hybrid working), is an acquisitive £30m turnover SME in the Retail, Consumer Goods, Technology and Manufacturing sector and has an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join as Financial Controller.

This is a newly created role due to the growth of the business. Reporting to the MD and a part time Finance Director, the role has excellent growth opportunities and obvious progression.

Both hands-on and forward-looking, this Financial Controller role will include:

Provision of management information to the Board
Management of a finance team of three staff
Month-end group reporting and management accounting
Budgeting and forecasting
Working capital management / FX issues
Development of systems and controls
Oversee year-end and audit
Liaising with banks and external advisors
Ad hoc involvement in projects and acquisitions

A qualified accountant is preferred (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ACMA) although qualified by relevant experience (QBE) will be considered.
