JE151: MEICA Estimator

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 Per annum

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a MEICA Estimator on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing the scope of work for the project with the MEICA team.
  • Applying your experience of MEICA equipment and services used in the construction of Water and Wastewater Treatment Works to achieve a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly solution for each project.
  • Contributing to process design development and then ensuring that designs are checked and verified and sufficiently developed to ensure accurate tender submissions.
  • Management of our selected contractors ensuring quality of delivery and value for money in all tender submissions, including:
  • Preparing material, equipment, and sub-contract enquiries.
  • Collating and managing technical enquiries raised by our trusted supply chain partners and, evaluating their tender returns for compilation into the tender.
  • Production of the MEICA cost estimate for tender submission by producing bottom-up estimates derived from the client scope & technical information
  • Risk and value management during the tender period.
  • Preparing budgets and cost plans.
  • Ensure estimating & tender procedures (CPR230) and governance (PL101) as well as all levels of due diligence are followed before tender adjudication.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A level, or equivalent plus either a foundation degree, HND or HNC.
  • Experience in estimating in the Water and wastewater industry.
  • MEICA (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation) installation/commissioning knowledge as well as technical construction knowledge.
  • Experience in estimating software such as Candy
  • Experience with multiple forms of contracts as well as the operation of frameworks within the Water and wastewater industry.
  • To have previously operated in a similar position around the estimating disciplines of MEICA, as a Mechanical or Electrical Estimator / Proposals Engineer.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS qualification (Desirable).
  • CSCS card qualification (Desirable).
  • First Aid qualification (Desirable).
  • 5-day SMSTS (Desirable).
