Ridgeway & Co are actively recruiting a lead Engineer on behalf of a prominent main contractor for a job in St Albans.
Role Overview:
maintain high standards, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Out:Manage setting out at various build stages, including foundations, earthworks, faade, and internal layouts.
- Quality Assurance:Inspect and verify subcontractors' work, maintaining a daily log of progress for each subcontractor.
- Project Management:Oversee all construction phases from substructure to superstructure, including landscaping.
- Communication:Attend weekly management meetings and coordinate with Site Clerks, Quantity Surveyors, and Health Safety Officers.
- Instrument Proficiency:Utilize EDM, rotating laser levels, and other instruments for as-built surveys, QA, and snagging.
- Tech Savvy:Proficient with construction management software, particularly Procore, and adept with tablets/android devices for on-site QA recording.
- IT Skills:Competent with Microsoft Office, emails, and other software programs.
- Design Knowledge:Strong understanding of design, drawings, details, and specifications.
- Construction Expertise:Comprehensive knowledge of substructure, drainage, and utilities.
- Progress Monitoring:Prepare for daily and weekly progress meetings, providing updates on work status and identifying any delays.

Requirements:
- Experience:Minimum 5 years as a lead Site Engineer.
- Education:Engineering Degree/Diploma or related qualification.
- Software Skills:Confident with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
