We are working with a contractor looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their business, leading their commercial function for some specialist projects with key clients in the commercial / healthcare fit-out sector. Are you looking for a new challenge? Read on!

Salary: 60,000 - 80,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Primarily office-based



About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and growing contractor based in St. Albans, specialising in M&E Design & Build, Category A & B Fit Out, and Refurbishment projects. With a strong portfolio in commercial spaces and specialist medical healthcare environments, they deliver high-quality, technically complex projects across London and the Southeast. Projects between the values of 50k-10m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct tender analysis and procurement of subcontractors.
  • Administer contracts and manage variations, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure commercial success.
  • Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
  • Mentor and support junior QS staff as required.


Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, with at least 2 years at senior level.
  • Proven experience in M&E Design & Build, Fit Out, or Refurbishment projects.
  • Experience working on healthcare or commercial sector projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar).
  • Full UK driving licence.
