Learning Support Assistant – SEN School
Full-Time | Long-Term | February 2026 Start | St Albans

Supply Desk is excited to collaborate with a caring SEN school in St Albans to recruit a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a full-time, long-term position starting in February 2026.

The Role:

You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver tailored support across Key Stage 1, with duties tailored to your experience and the specific needs of the pupils.

Key Duties:
  • Provide targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and emotional development.

  • Assist with the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage active participation in lessons.

  • Build supportive, trusting relationships with both pupils and staff.

  • Adapt learning resources to cater to individual learning styles.

  • Track pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school or SEN setting.

  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to support.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility and a genuine enthusiasm for helping children learn and grow.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
