An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead transformation and modernisation across the payroll function within a well-established training provider.

The Role:

As Payroll Manager, you'll take the lead on payroll delivery while supporting improvements to systems, processes, and team structure. Working closely with the HR Director and alongside a supportive senior payroll colleague, you'll bring in fresh thinking, drive simplification, and help embed best practice.

You'll have the freedom to shape how things are done, with plenty of support and a culture that welcomes new ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the delivery of payroll services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a small team of Payroll Administrators

  • Streamline processes and reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets

  • Identify and implement system improvements

  • Foster a collaborative, proactive approach within the team

About You:
  • You've previously managed or led payroll functions, or are ready to step up from a Senior/Lead role

  • Comfortable working with varied pay structures and multiple rates

  • Naturally process-driven, with a focus on accuracy and compliance

  • Enjoy leading change, improving ways of working, and supporting others to develop

  • Confident using payroll systems and able to identify areas for automation and improvement
