SEND Teaching Assistant required for St Helens Primary school - care / support background accepted.We are currently recruiting for a St Helens-based primary school with amazing facilities for SEND. You will be working in a community-enriched environment with strong partnerships with sports associations and local traditions. Your new school makes the most of local history in lessons for pupils and loves to inspire creativity through the Arts. The school is a new building and has wonderful outdoor spaces for children and a supportive SLT department to help manage pupils' expectations. Your new role. You will be required to immerse yourself within a busy SEND school and provide support for pupils and teaching staff. The school does cater for pupils with SEND / SEMH needs in KS2 and KKS3 and offers a GCSE curriculum structure. You may be required to supervise children outside the classroom and work one-to-one with pupils to help manage emotional needs and engage with curriculum subjects. You will work alongside staff and pupils with SEND difficulties and use teaching and behavioural methods in line with Quality First Teaching practices. Experience in SEND additional needs is not always necessary as the school will provide support for the right applicant. You will take part in training in line with the school CPD calendar.What you will need to succeed.
- A minimum of 30 days experience working with children in the past 3 years.
- Ability to work 1:1 and in a group setting.
- Strong commutation skills.
- Work constructively as part of a team.
- Ability to work alongside children with SEN / behavioural needs.
- Understanding of the EYFS Curriculum.
- Up-to-date DBS preferred.
