1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our secondary school in St Helens. This is a full-time, permanent role, starting as soon as possible, working closely with a pupil who requires additional support.



About the Role

  • Provide 1:1 support for a student with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour management and personal development.

  • Work alongside the class teacher and wider staff team to create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

  • Build a positive and trusting relationship to encourage progress and confidence.



About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting.

  • Patient, empathetic and resilient, with a strong commitment to supporting individual needs.

  • Able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

  • Flexible, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed.
