Recruit4staff are representing a well-established engineering business in their search for a Manual Machinist to work in St Helens

Job Details:

  • Pay: £17.01 per hour (Overtime paid at x1.5 of basic Monday–Saturday, x2 of basic on Sundays)
  • Hours of Work: 38 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 8am–4:30pm, Friday 8am–2pm
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: Up to 6% employer pension contribution, 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Welplan Insurance, PPE provided (Overalls, T-shirts, Jumpers, £35 Safety Boots voucher)

Job Role: As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating manual milling and turning machines to produce bespoke one-off products and small batch orders. The role involves working from technical engineering drawings to tight tolerances and operating various workshop machinery such as guillotine, hydro form, press brake, and pillar drills. Additional duties include painting and cleaning assembled parts, and carrying out maintenance on plant and machinery.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Experience setting and operating a manual milling machine
  • Proven ability to work from technical engineering drawings

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Experience with sheetmetal fabrication work
  • C&G/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
