Mechanical Engineer

Location: St Helens
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
Shifts: Permanent Days, Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
Overtime: x1.5 Mon-Saturday (Morning), x2 Saturday (Afternoon) & Sunday.

Central Employment are proudly representing our industry recognised and leading, Engineering Client, based in St Helen, as they look to recruit experienced Mechanical/Multiskilled Engineers to join their orgainsation due to significant growth within the organisation.

If you are an experienced Mechanical/Multiskilled Engineer, with a specialty in rotating equipment, as well as servicing and repair, apply now for an immediate response!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans, and other rotating equipment
  • Conduct AC & DC motor/armature rewinding
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions
  • Accurately report and log work using our job control system
  • Support and mentor engineering apprentices
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulation.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Recognised apprenticeship in electro-mechanical engineering
  • NVQ level 3 is essential as a minimum.
  • 10+ years of experience in the electric motor/pump repair industry (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of limits & fits
  • Ability to mentor and train junior engineers
  • Computer literate with good reporting skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and a strong problem-solver
