Senior Social Worker / Assistant Team Manager - Duty Service (Children's)

We have an excellent Locum Assistant Team Manager opportunity to join a Duty Service in Liverpool, supporting the Team Manager in the operational oversight of a fast-paced frontline duty team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Team Manager in overseeing team performance
  • Mentor and develop team members
  • Chair and facilitate care planning meetings, strategy meetings, and support child protection enquiries
  • Help manage complex casework and short-term interventions
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
  • Promote good practice, performance standards, and service improvement
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • 3+ years' experience managing child protection enquiries, CWLA processes, strategy meetings, and court work
  • Confident in facilitating and chairing meetings, and supporting care planning
  • Strong understanding of performance monitoring and staff development
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and partnership-working skills
  • Willingness to support hybrid working and be office-based during duty weeks
