Behaviour Support Worker
Location: St Helens
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: 95-105 per day

We are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support worker for a well-regarded secondary school in St Helens. You will be working in a 1 to 1 capacity with students who may have additional needs, and those who are disengaged with their education. These students need extra support & guidance and may display quite challenging behaviours that will need to be managed.
Some of these students may have ASD, ADHD, SEMH and some may have chaotic home lives / trauma.
Although this is a mainstream school, you will be working within the SEN department and be overseen by the SENCO.

Your Role as a Behaviour Support Worker

  • As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:
  • Provide classroom support across core subjects
  • Work 1:1 with students.
  • Help adapt activities to support different learning needs
  • Encourage positive participation, focus and confidence in lessons
  • Support the class teacher with learning resources and routines
  • Contribute to a calm, safe and inclusive school environment


We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school, tutoring, youth work, care, coaching all welcome)
  • A proactive and patient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Robust and comfortable with challenging behaviour

Previous experience is beneficial, but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates and career changers looking to start a rewarding role in education.
