We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team. This pivotal role supports the management of safeguarding and child protection concerns within the school, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing and addressing safeguarding and child protection concerns.
  • Assist staff with the reporting of child protection issues and provide guidance on safeguarding matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safeguarding records, ensuring all reporting is timely and in line with national guidelines.
  • Attend and represent the school in meetings for identified pupils, articulating the school’s safeguarding perspectives effectively.
  • Collaborate with both internal team members and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection.
  • Facilitate and support staff training on safeguarding policies, including updates from Keeping Children Safe in Education, ensuring these are effectively implemented across the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting, preferably in SEN.
  • Strong understanding of the latest safeguarding policies and procedures, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in safeguarding and child protection.
