We have been engaged by a leading national firm headquartered in Cambridge, a chartered accountancy practice who are recruiting for an experienced Internal Auditor, either at Senior or Assistant Manager, the level is subject to the experience of the successful applicant.
Working in a small but exceptionally talented team, both positions will comprise of predominately risk assessment tasks, the remaining aspects will include occasional advisory assignments and presentation of the findings of the internal audit team.
The size and complexity of the assignments with a wide range of clients will increase with experience and require exceptional organisation skills to manage your work effectively. You will also be required to manage expectations, present findings and justify them using challenging questions.
Working closely with Senior Management the roles will involve (but not limited to):
- Partnering with clients’ primary contact on these assignments, to plan internal audit cycles based on client risk register.
- Create internal audit tests and relevant paperwork prior to and ready for each assignment.
- Undertaking tests and prepare supporting working papers during the assignment.
- Prepare for and undertake occasional projects and /or investigations including due diligence reviews and fraud investigations.
- Attend assignments both on the clients’ premises and remotely when required
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential to apply you must –
Be IIA, ACA or ACCA qualified, with proven experience in an internal audit role within either another practice firm or a boutique consultancy.
From your experience you will have gained diplomacy, effective communication and relationship building skills, an understanding of how your role impacts the bigger team, able to adhere to instruction to the letter, and highly self-motivated and reliable.
