TeamJob is offering an exciting opportunity for candidates to join the team as a Engine Test Technician in Stanffordto start ASAP.

Location: Stafford
Pay Rate: Up to 21.35 per hour
Contract Length: 12 months (high potential for extension)
Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday-Thursday, 6:45am-4:30pm (Overtime opportunities on Fridays)
Start Date: ASAP

What You'll Be Doing

  • Hands-on testing of diesel and gas engines for performance, durability, and emissions.

  • Stripping and rebuilding diesel engines as part of test procedures.

  • Using instrumentation like thermocouples, pressure transducers, flowmeters, and emissions analysers.

  • Supporting end-to-end test operations, including writing and executing test schedules.

  • Working closely with engineering teams to validate brand-new engine platforms.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

  • Solid experience working on diesel or gas engine test programs.

  • Mechanical/electrical experience with diesel engines (strip & rebuild).

  • Strong instrumentation knowledge (e.g., emissions equipment, flowmeters).

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years in automotive, off-highway, or aerospace sectors.

  • Familiarity with test systems (DSG, Cadet, PUMA) and ECU controller software.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in automotive mechanics or equivalent.

  • Higher qualifications such as HNC/HND/BEng are welcomed.

Soft Skills:

  • Highly motivated, hands-on, and team-oriented.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer-focused mindset.
