Supplier Quality Engineer
Working onsite in Stafford (ST16)
Initial 12 month contract - likely to extend for the right person
37 hours a week, lunchtime finish on a Friday. Mon to Thurs 08:30-16:30, Fri 08:30-13:30
Up to £30.24 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £41.04 - depending on experience

Our client is a worldwide manufacturer of construction and mining products. They’re looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer, on an initial 12 month contract basis which is likely to extend for the right person; to ensure external suppliers provide Castings, Machined parts, Tubes & Hoses, Electrical & Electronics components that meet the required quality standards through audits, performance monitoring, and collaboration to resolve issues.
What will the Supplier Quality Engineer do?
- Conduct supplier audits & assessments, analyse data, implement corrective actions, to maintain a high-performing supplier network, safeguarding product integrity and customer satisfaction
- You will be the bridge between suppliers and the facility for any issues, working with both sides to get issues resolved
- You’ll also monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, manage Relationships, improve processes, mitigate risks and ensure supplier compliance
- Collect, analyse and summarise data to prepare reports on supplier quality and performance
- Some travel to suppliers will be required
What skills and experience does the Supplier Quality Engineer need?
- Previous demonstrable experience working with suppliers. You’ll have high technical knowledge in manufacturing & quality systems, and process knowledge in casting, machining, tubes & hoses, electrical & electronics components
- Experience in quality assurance, supplier management, process improvement and knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge with APQP, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis is essential
- Strong leadership and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills dealing with both internal and external partners
- Analytical skills for data analysis and reporting
- PC literate: used to using MS Office suite
- Desirable: Supplier Quality Management preferably in the Engine manufacturing industry
- Desirable: Project Management experience
