Location: Based anywhere in UK

Salary: £55k basic + bonus + comp car/car allowance

The Role:

  • To maintain and develop the Sales and Customer Service functions of the company, helping the company to achieve its Vision, Mission, Values and established corporate culture.
  • To provide professional and positive support to Partners, HODs, Country Managers, suppliers and customers.
  • To be responsible for the delivery of high-quality service and appropriate improvements, with an aim to achieving objectives in the areas of (but not limited to) Sales and Customer Service.
  • Undertake activities within but not exclusive Plastics, Rubber and PU market areas.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone / email with both existing and new products in allocated territory;
  • Identifying new potential customers within agreed territory in line with business focus.
  • Developing relationships with new potential customers in person and via telephone / email with both existing and new products.
  • Identifying key decision makers/influencers within each customer.
  • Identifying needs with each customer and selling solutions based on technical & commercial knowledge.
  • Identify range of products to take to market.
  • Agreeing budgets (sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales) in line with business plans.
  • Reviewing sector performance against budget on a monthly basis and presenting during internal sales meetings.
  • Identifying gaps within the product range and working to identify appropriate sources.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  • Record, analyse, report and administer in accordance with company procedures
  • Manage all opportunities for potential and existing customers through WEB CRM system, ensuring all opportunities / activities are up to date in terms of pipeline stage and logs.
  • Liaise and negotiate, internally and externally, using appropriate methods, to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Monitor and report on sector needs in terms of marketing, logistics and personnel.
  • Attend UK and overseas workshops / conferences / tradeshows as required.
  • Attend joint visits to customers with suppliers / principals.
  • Ensure company and area KPI’s are achieved.
  • Participate in staff development as required;
  • Support the Management Team, M.D. and any other partners as required.
  • Work closely with Sales Team, Finance, Supply Chain and CSR

Requirements:

  • Must have a proven track record selling specialty chemicals
  • Ideally comes from a technical background
  • Chemical related degree or similar
