Our client is at the forefront of the clean energy transition, and they need an enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager to join their team! This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to projects that are vital for securing Britain's energy while supporting the development of a greener gas system.

About the Role:As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be a key player in supporting the Project Manager on exciting projects, particularly the replacement of control systems at compressor stations-the brain and nervous system of our energy assets. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Project Support: Assist in delivering capital projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while ensuring health, safety, and environmental issues are addressed.
  • Design Process: Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to review proposals for SHE management, project risks, deliverability, and safety performance.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and monthly status reports that detail SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management, and financial performance.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with Site Supervisors and Design Co-Ordinators to manage contractors and project teams, ensuring smooth operations and effective contractor performance.
  • Project Scope: Support the delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E,C&I) projects, alongside mechanical and civil scopes. Previous experience in asset replacement will be highly beneficial.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Strong communication skills to engage and motivate teams.
  • Highly organised to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness to learn and develop your project management skills.
  • Flexibility to travel and work away from home up to 5 days a week.
  • Full UK car driving license.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in project management and/or engineering discipline.
  • Progressing towards NEC 4 accreditation or an APM qualification.
  • Previous experience in the gas industry, control system replacement, and/or control and instrumentation.
  • Recognized training or qualifications in health, safety, and environmental management.
