About the RoleAn NHS client in Staffordshire is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Strategic Procurement Manager to join their team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing strategic procurement activities and delivering value-driven commercial solutions across a multi-ICS footprint. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple Trusts, supporting transformation through procurement strategy and collaborative engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic procurement initiatives in line with national and local procurement legislation and guidelines.
  • Deliver measurable savings and performance improvements, reporting to senior NHS leadership.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and supplier relationships, balancing the needs of multiple NHS organisations.
  • Oversee category management, policy development, and large-scale procurement projects.
  • Provide expert procurement advice to clinical and operational teams on high-value and high-risk contracts.
  • Contribute to cost improvement plans and sustainability initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Procurement experience to a suitable level is essential, with strong knowledge of UK procurement regulations and frameworks.
  • Full MCIPS qualification is preferred, or significant procurement experience with commitment to achieving the qualification.
  • Extensive procurement leadership experience, ideally in a public sector or healthcare setting, though private sector candidates with relevant skills are welcomed.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team in a demanding environment, with strong prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Proven track record in contract negotiation, supplier management, and delivering cost savings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams at all levels.
