Role: Mechanical Engineer

This is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering team maintaining a wide range of sophisticated mechanical systems in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Maintenance & Inspection - Perform routine and scheduled checks on motors, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, and safety systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- System Testing & Diagnostics - Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot control systems, sensors, and mechanical components, resolving faults and supporting emergency protocols.
- Overhauls, Upgrades & Installation - Support major overhauls, part replacements, and commissioning of new systems in collaboration with OEMs and contractors.
- Safety, Compliance & Teamwork - Carry out risk assessments, maintain safety records, ensure regulatory compliance, and work closely with cross-functional teams while mentoring junior staff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent (NVQ / apprenticeship / work-based learning)
- Strong practical experience in heavy mechanical maintenance
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and digital reporting
- Safety-focused with good problem-solving and communication skills
