Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Staffordshire who need someone to ideally start immediately.

Role Purpose

  • Ensure the organisation secures the best value when purchasing goods and services.
  • Create and improve procurement policies and systems to save money and comply with regulations.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities follow internal policies and legal requirements.

Primary Duties

  • Develop and oversee clear procurement policies and ensure they are properly followed.
  • Provide helpful and cost-effective support to staff for their purchasing needs.
  • Review and implement strategies to achieve better value by reducing the number of suppliers.
  • Manage formal tendering processes for major purchases.
  • Maintain oversight of key contracts and keep an up-to-date list of approved suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and suggest improvements where necessary.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 4 qualification in procurement and supply (such as CIPS Level 4).
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Have strong experience working in a procurement environment, ideally within the public sector.
  • Be capable of identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving procurement processes.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and support others.
