Role: Project Manager (CHP)

Location: Mostly Home (occasional travel to sites in Birmingham and Manchester)

Duration: 6 Months

Purpose

As a Senior Project Manager you will be accountable to deliver innovative and leading decarbonised energy solutions and enabling our vision to help customers live sustainably, simply, and affordably. You will do this by relentlessly supporting our colleagues, outperforming for our clients, and contributing to quality and profit.

As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of multi-technology activities for a range of internal, public and private sector clients. The role will involve the leadership and ownership of projects in flight and input towards opportunities in the bidding phase with a need for participation in our continual improvement process. The Senior project manager must be able to manage and lead a team of project personnel be this managers, engineering staff or site management to ensure successful project delivery that promotes industry leading standards in both safety and construction.

Experience

  • Project management: A project manager able to operate independently to deliver overall business results.
  • Delivery track record: Proven track record of successfully delivering small and large projects for a variety of sectors. Significant experience with project management, project controls and project governance.
  • HSE: Experience managing HSE in an engineering and construction environment.
  • Technical: Multi-disciplined technical experience but at least one strength in either Solar, CHP or Integrated projects. Good understanding of the technology being installed to ensure it is safely and correctly installed.
  • Construction: Experience in the construction of large complex on site energy projects working with a mix of in-house and third-party labour.
  • Commercial: Strong commercial acumen both financially and contractually including:
  • Strong understanding of the financial drivers for customers and for CBS.
  • Extensive contractual experience with key industry contract types including MF1, PPAs, Energy Savings Agreements, Discount Energy Purchases and other industry standard contract types such as NEC and FIDIC Red/Silver book.
  • Sector experience: Experience working with complex users of energy including solar, CHP or hospitals and large corporate facilities.
