Help Support Families Stay Together

Staffordshire are looking to take on an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment and Staying Together teams.

  • The post offers very flexible working, with Social Workers having to be in the office 1 day/week
  • Cases generally involve Domestic Violence, Substance Misuse and Neglect - there is very little in the way of CSE/CCe
  • The team will consist of a Team Manager, 1 Senior Practitioner 5 Social Workers and a Family Practitioner

  • Competitive Pay Rates for the region - Please ask for more information

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a service which had restructured early last year to provide a more holistic service to families and help support them to stay together. The team takes on cases once thresholds have been met for further intervention and work intensely with children and families to help prevent further escalation. The majority of work tends to be around working with Children in Need but you will also have a small number of cases where proceeding would need to be initiated.

The Local Authority have created a number of Family Hubs which work closely with families to provide further support to Social Workers and families and help coordinate resources within the region. Information is also shared well as the Local Authority have adopted a district model where different services such as Early Help and LAC are encouraged to share ideas providing the Social Worker with the correct information to be able to make effective, quick and safe decisions, ultimately contributing to an improved outcome for the child.

To be considered for this post you should have experience within a front line Social Work team.
