Driver Training Instructor

We are working with an industry leading client on the lookout for a proactive Regional Driver Training Instructor to cover the South East region.

The region consists of a base site and several sister sites, where you’ll be responsible for delivering training to currently qualified LGV drivers, providing support, and ensuring drivers meet the highest standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and make a significant impact on driver development within your area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training based on their current 21 classroom/hands on modules, ensuring all drivers meet safety and operational standards, operating company vehicles and equipment to a high standard
  • Identify additional training needs and tailor bespoke solutions to address them
  • Provide specialist guidance on safety and technical support to drivers, Transport Managers and Supervisors
  • Audit training activities, performance and record keeping to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
  • Support driver selection, assessment, and mentoring for new drivers and apprentices, helping them develop and maintain skills throughout their training
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and industry changes, ensuring drivers remain legally compliant at all times
  • This role will have a business needs vehicle to help cover your region effectively, and will be the visible leader in the field, setting the standards and supporting drivers in achieving them

As such we would like you to have:

  • A confident technical driver trainer with excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise your workload, and manage your time effectively
  • Experience in designing and delivering both classroom and in-field training
  • Experience in operation of all Microsoft Office packages, including PowerPoint
  • LGV driving licence with a minimum of CAT C entitlement
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Willingness to travel and interact with drivers across your region
