A1 Personnel are recruiting for a customs-savvy professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for international trade? Ready to step into a pivotal role in a fast-moving environment where precision meets purpose? If so, you might be the Import Customs Operator we're looking for!

Join a dynamic Customs team at one of the UK’s most modern logistics hubs. You'll be working at the heart of operations, ensuring smooth, compliant import procedures that keep goods moving and businesses thriving.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Submitting import declarations across a range of Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs) using ASM Sequoia
  • Filing Safety & Security declarations directly with HMRC
  • Liaising with HMRC to resolve any holds, queries or challenges
  • Performing post-entry checks, reclaims, and necessary amendments
  • Supporting the monthly P&L reporting process
  • Participating in key projects as set out by the Customs Manager
  • Upholding our compliance and health & safety standards with diligence

What We’re Looking For

  • Must-Haves:Hands-on experience in customs brokerage (CDS/CHIEF submissions via ASM Sequoia or similar)Sound knowledge of HMRC Tariff classifications and customs proceduresFamiliarity with port community systems (CNS/Destin8)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsIntermediate IT skills (Word, Excel, and beyond!)Incredible attention to detail - nothing gets past you!
  • Nice-to-Haves:A full UK driving licence - our location is best accessed on four wheelsExperience with CFSP/Simplified Declarations - a bonus, not a deal-breaker
