About the Position

DMG Education are currently working in partnership with a secondary school in Stanford-le-Hope, Thurrock who are looking for an outstanding Head of Physics to join them from September on a permanent basis. They are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Physics / Physics teacher with a passion for Physics to Lead Physics? They are looking for a Head of Physics with the skills to inspire and engage young minds? They are seeking a talented Secondary Head of Physics to join their dynamic and supportive team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic and personal growth and a fantastic role for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Physics section within Science 
  • Deliver high-quality Physics lessons to students in Years 7-12.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess staff & students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages staff and students to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with Physics teachers to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Physics curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including science clubs and competitions, to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to keep them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching Physics at the secondary level.
  • Leadership experience ideally but not essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of the Physics curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn new teaching strategies.
