Job Title: CNC Machinist – Milling
Location: Stanley
Hourly Rate: £17.09 – £19.08 (DOE)
Shifts: Day shift only – 7:30am–16:30pm Monday–Thursday & 7:30am–12:30pm Friday
Overtime: Plenty available at 1.5x rate

Job Description:

As a CNC Machinist, you’ll be an integral part of the machining team, producing precision-engineered components using Hurco CNC Machining Centres and related equipment.

You’ll ensure each part is manufactured to the highest quality standards, meeting tight tolerances and customer deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines (Hurco Ultimax preferred).
  • Manufacturing high-quality parts to tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.
  • Measuring, inspecting, and reverse-engineering machined parts as required.
  • Selecting and setting up appropriate tooling for each job.
  • Providing engineering input for bespoke and breakdown projects.
  • Preparing tooling requirements in advance to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Supporting apprentices and encouraging best practice across the workshop.
  • Promoting and following the company’s “Home Safe Every Day” safety culture.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful as a CNC Machinist, you’ll need:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a precision machining role.
  • Strong CNC programming, setting, and tool selection skills.
  • Good knowledge of tolerances, surface finishes, and mechanical assembly.
  • Skilled use of measuring equipment (micrometers, slip gauges, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to support and mentor apprentices.
