Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our clients Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, as well as the ability to work with precision tools and equipment. The Laser Operator will play a crucial part in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser cutting machines safely and efficiently to fabricate sheet metal components.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Assemble, grind, and weld components as required for production.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately produce parts.
• Use hand tools and tooling effectively to complete fabrication tasks.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proficient in basic maths for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in operating machinery, particularly laser cutting equipment.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes, including assembling, grinding, and welding.
• Ability to use hand tools and tooling effectively in a engineering environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
