The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a long-term water and utilities framework, based from their Brighton offices. This position will see you supporting a portfolio of civils and utilities projects, ensuring sound commercial management and providing financial guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of commercial duties across allocated projects.

  • Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.

  • Administer subcontract accounts, including procurement, payments, and change control.

  • Support the delivery team with accurate cost forecasting, CVRs, and monthly reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, primarily under NEC.

  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and provide proactive solutions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.

  • Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen, with a strong eye for detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels.

  • Highly organised, able to manage workload across multiple live projects.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline is advantageous.
