We’re looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of multiple schemes as part of a major AMP8 water infrastructure framework across the Hampshire and Sussex region. This long-term programme involves a diverse range of clean and wastewater upgrades — spanning pipelines, pumping stations, treatment works, and associated civil infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a regional delivery team responsible for driving the commercial performance of multiple projects, ranging in value from £250k to £10m+. It will suit someone experienced in working on frameworks, with excellent stakeholder skills and the ability to manage a variety of subcontractor packages simultaneously.

The Role

  • Oversee commercial management across a portfolio of water infrastructure projects under the AMP8 programme.

  • Produce accurate CVRs, forecasts, applications for payment, and monthly cost/value reports.

  • Lead on subcontractor procurement, negotiation, administration, and commercial performance tracking.

  • Manage contract compliance across NEC and IChemE forms and ensure reporting is aligned with client frameworks.

  • Drive cost efficiency, track commercial opportunities, and ensure financial risk is effectively managed.

  • Work closely with delivery teams to align commercial targets with operational progress.

  • Support and mentor junior QS staff where required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role within civil engineering or utilities, ideally within the water sector.

  • Background in delivering work under long-term frameworks or alliances.

  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and their practical application.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and subcontractor accounts concurrently.

  • Confident communicator, able to manage client and internal stakeholder relationships.

  • Commercially astute with strong forecasting and cost control capabilities.

Desirable

  • Experience managing subcontracts with design elements or direct engagement with design partners.

  • Knowledge of water utility standards and frameworks (e.g. working with Southern Water or Portsmouth Water).

  • Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

  • RICS/ICES membership or actively working towards chartership.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary plus car allowance or company vehicle.

  • Enhanced pension and private medical cover.

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + loyalty days.

  • Structured development and support towards professional qualifications.

  • Long-term security within a major AMP8 framework.

  • Hybrid working arrangements and flexibility across regional project offices.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a multi-year water investment programme with real impact across the South East. If you're looking for a hands-on commercial role within a supportive and forward-thinking contractor, this could be a great next step.
