We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial property company based in North West London, currently seeking a capable and experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function.

This position will report directly to the business owner (CFO), sitting above an in-house accountant and working closely with external accountants. The ideal candidate must be confident using Xero, as the company is in the process of transitioning its financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage invoicing for services and oversee commission payments
  • Review property completion statements and track income/expenditure during ownership to produce property-specific profit and JV profit-share calculations
  • Prepare and deliver regular financial reports for joint venture partners
  • Manage payments for both property and non-property-related expenses, with cost accounting oversight
  • Oversee VAT returns and claims, along with general bookkeeping and accounting activities
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring against actuals
  • Assist with business structuring and tax planning initiatives
