Role: Deputy Manager - Minimum Level 5 experienceFull time/Part time, Term timeSalary: Depending on experienceLocation: Stanmore, HA7 2QXAbout us:We are seeking a Deputy Manager for a highly successful pre-school for children aged 2-5 years. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will assist in leading a dedicated team, fostering a nurturing environment for both children and staff. The nursery aims to hold a 'Montessori style' approach when nurturing children to their highest potential.

Duties:

  • Operational Management: Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of care and education
  • Staff Leadership: Support the recruitment, induction, training, and professional development of staff
  • Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals to promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Curriculum Implementation: Collaborate with the team to plan and deliver a curriculum that introduces children to many activities designed to help them develop concentration, coordination, confidence, independence and perseverance
  • Participation in a wide range of subjects activities: including supporting children with practical life, mathematics, sensory activities
  • Parent Partnerships: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring effective communication and involvement in their child's learning journey
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning
  • Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures
  • Administration: Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining children's records, managing staff rotas, and ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements
  • In Manager's Absence: Take full responsibility for the operation of the nursery, making decisions in the best interest of the children and staff

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Level 5 qualification in Early Years Education
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in senior leadership
  • Minimum of 5 years nursery experience early years care and education setting, with a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with experience in staff supervision and performance management
  • Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding procedures, health and safety regulations, and Ofsted requirements
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
