JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Pastoral and Spiritual Wellbeing Practitionerwith experience of leading faith related / spiritual / holistic development activities in an educational setting, who has empathetic listening skills, ability to handle sensitive issues and a developed knowledge and understanding of the major world religions.

As the Pastoral and Spiritual Wellbeing Practitioner you will foster the holistic development of students and staff emotionally, spiritually, and mentally aligned with the schools ethos and values.

Working as the Pastoral and Spiritual Wellbeing Practitioner you will offer one-to-one emotional and spiritual wellbeing support, while facilitating reflective discussion groups for pupils, staff and parents.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as Pastoral and Spiritual Wellbeing Practitioner will include:

  • Collaborate with teaching, pastoral, and inclusion teams to enhance the schools overall wellbeing and chaplaincy provision
  • Lead assemblies, create spiritual and wellbeing resources, coordinate liturgical events, and deepen engagement with local faith communities
  • Support Collective Worship by delivering assemblies and developing resources on spiritual topics, practices
  • Support students understanding and experience of festival days through immersive workshops
  • Lead and facilitate student, staff and parent spiritual insight discussion groups
  • Develop the schools social outreach through opportunities for students to give back to the local community
  • Create emotional & spiritual wellbeing content for students: videos, newsletters, etc
  • Support induction of new staff and students
  • Provide support and signposting for pupils, staff, parents in times of bereavement, and during spiritual, personal, family and social difficulties
  • Support heads of year and inclusion team, playing an active role in the pastoral system

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Empathic listening skills, excellent communication, organisation and presentation skills
  • Ability to act upon own initiative
  • A warm, friendly attitude that make person approachable for students, staff and parents
  • For faith schools: Practicing Krishna Consciousness and have a deep understanding of its beliefs and practices
  • Experience of leading faith related / spiritual activities in an educational setting
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
