Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Stansted

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role is focused on improving workshop processes, supporting repair and overhaul work, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. It involves close collaboration with operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and developing new solutions that enhance efficiency and equipment performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Evaluate repairs and overhauls of components, providing clear engineering solutions to the workshop
  • Reverse engineer component assemblies and develop alternative tooling designs as needed
  • Lead or support new product development projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget
  • Produce detailed documentation, including drawings and analysis, to support engineering projects
  • Write and introduce technical procedures to guide workshop processes and support handovers to operations
  • Investigate equipment breakdowns and non-conformances, carrying out root cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Maintain technical records and oversee the design or improvement of tooling and equipment to meet specification requirements
  • Use industrial engineering methods to review process timings and identify areas for efficiency improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and GEMBA across the department

Experience & Education

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or a related engineering field
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, documentation, and relevant industry standards (AS9100, CAA/EASA, FAA Part 145/21G)
  • Confident communicator, able to explain technical concepts to different audiences
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Skilled in project planning and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changeable environment
  • Proficient in MS Office and CAD software; quick to learn other systems
