Sonic Summary

The position is for a Manufacturing Engineer, focusing on New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining Engineering.
Candidates should have a degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related field, along with familiarity with industry regulations like AS9100 and EASA/FAA standards.
The role requires strong technical drawing, documentation, and CAD skills, as well as effective communication and teamwork abilities.
The job involves evaluating repair methods, leading NPD projects, providing technical support during equipment failures, and driving operational excellence initiatives.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required, with a salary range of £40,000 to £50,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Development (NPD):

Evaluate repair/overhaul methods and reverse engineer component assemblies.
Develop and approve alternative tooling and produce technical documentation.
Lead/support NPD projects, including technical procedure development and handover to operations.

Sustaining Engineering:

Provide technical support during equipment failures and non-conformances.
Lead root cause investigations and maintain internal technical records.
Design or upgrade tools and equipment within budgetary limits.
Apply industrial engineering methods to identify process inefficiencies and improvements.

Other Responsibilities:

Drive operational excellence (OpEx) and lean initiatives (Kaizens, GEMBA walks, 5S).
Support change management and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field.
Familiarity with industry regulations (AS9100, EASA/FAA Part 145 & 21G).
Strong technical drawing, documentation, and CAD skills.
Effective communicator, team player, and project planner with a proactive mindset.
