We're on the lookout for a reliable and hardworking Stores-person to control the stores function in this diverse engineering company. The company deals with various types of engineering which includes aerospace parts production so any experience with AS9100 is a distinct advantage. The role is supported by a stores assistant.

What You'll Do:

  • Keep track of stock levels and ensure we have the right materials available for our manufacturing and fabrication processes.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing goods using our user-friendly inventory management software, making sure everything is recorded accurately.
  • Work closely with the engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to tackle any issues and improve our operations.
  • Help maintain compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Prepare and package goods for delivery, making sure all compliance paperwork is sorted and ready.
  • Lead our stores team by providing support and guidance in daily operations, fostering a collaborative and motivated atmosphere.
  • Communicate with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and manage inventory levels to keep production running smoothly.
  • Check the quality and quantity of received materials (goods in)
  • Assist in regular stock audits and cycle counts to keep our inventory accurate.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace in the stores area, promoting a culture of safety and cleanliness.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a stores, warehouse, or stock control role, ideally in a precision engineering or metal fabrication business.
  • A good understanding of stock control processes and best practices related to manufacturing.
  • Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player.
  • Great communication skills and the knack for prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Good computer skills for managing inventory.
