Join a Global Leader in Water Sector Projects

Our client, a dynamic and internationally recognised engineering firm, is expanding their commercial team in Scotland and is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow office. A background in the water industry would be highly advantageous.

Role Overview

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of projects. From tender through to final account, you will work closely with the commercial team, providing essential support to operational teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from tender stage through to final account.
  • Produce accurate project cost forecasts.
  • Administer subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Oversee daily commercial operations across projects.
  • Manage procurement processes effectively.
  • Interpret and evaluate expenditure reports with accuracy.
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor documentation as required.
  • Assess compensation events and issue early warning notices when necessary.
  • Provide commercial support to operational teams and stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with both internal and external decision-makers.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Have experience working on fast-paced, high-volume projects.
  • Ideally have previous involvement in the water sector, particularly on MEICA projects.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in commercial management and subcontractor procurement.
  • Be proactive in managing risk and identifying opportunities.
  • Have experience of NEC contracts.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to handle large datasets.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
