We are seeking an experienced Interim Group Accountant (home based) to join a finance team on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, technically strong accountant with significant post-qualification experience, who can take immediate ownership of core accounting processes during a critical reporting period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost centre accounting and provide detailed variance analysis and commentary.
  • Prepare and post key balance sheet entries, particularly related to:
    • Inter company loans
    • Interest accruals
    • Bank reconciliations
  • Lead and execute the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support internal reporting requirements, including management accounts and board packs.
  • Reconcile key accounts and ensure balance sheet integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve reporting processes and data accuracy.
  • Assist in audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in group accounting and strong understanding of financial controls.
  • Solid experience in month-end close and financial reporting in a complex or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong balance sheet knowledge, especially in relation to loans, interest, and intercompany transactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle large data sets efficiently.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion and Oracle FCCS is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Available immediately or on short notice (max. one week).

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: End of November
  • Rate: £400-£500 per day
  • IR35: Inside IR35 via umbrella
  • Base site: Home based
