We are seeking an experienced Interim Group Accountant (home based) to join a finance team on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, technically strong accountant with significant post-qualification experience, who can take immediate ownership of core accounting processes during a critical reporting period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cost centre accounting and provide detailed variance analysis and commentary.
- Prepare and post key balance sheet entries, particularly related to:
- Inter company loans
- Interest accruals
- Bank reconciliations
- Lead and execute the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support internal reporting requirements, including management accounts and board packs.
- Reconcile key accounts and ensure balance sheet integrity.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve reporting processes and data accuracy.
- Assist in audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in group accounting and strong understanding of financial controls.
- Solid experience in month-end close and financial reporting in a complex or multi-entity environment.
- Strong balance sheet knowledge, especially in relation to loans, interest, and intercompany transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle large data sets efficiently.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion and Oracle FCCS is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Available immediately or on short notice (max. one week).
Contract Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: End of November
- Rate: £400-£500 per day
- IR35: Inside IR35 via umbrella
- Base site: Home based
