Role Overview:
As our General Handyperson, you will play a crucial role in keeping our school in excellent condition. You will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks and repairs, ensuring that the school's facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is proactive, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in maintaining a positive environment for children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
- Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.
- Repair and maintain school equipment and furniture as needed.
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events and activities.
- Ensure the school grounds are kept clean and tidy, including basic gardening and landscaping tasks and general cleaning/ cleaner duties.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and address them efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of maintenance supplies and tools.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure a safe environment for all.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in general maintenance, handywork, or a similar role.
- Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry and painting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to handle unexpected tasks and emergencies.
- A positive attitude and commitment to creating a safe, supportive school environment.
