A manufacturer and seller of high-quality drilling and cutting tools is currently looking for a Sales General Manager to join their UK team based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

This is a key leadership role ideal for a commercially driven professional with a strong background in B2B or B2C sales, preferably within the industrial tools or related sectors, and proven experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams.

TYPE: Full-time, permanent

SALARY: £60k-£65k + car allowance, depending on the experience

LOCATION: Stevenage, UK (typically field-based with 1-2 days in the office per week)

GENERAL MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the sales activities in the UK
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional departments including Manufacturing, Product Development, Finance, HR, Purchasing, and Warehousing
  • Manage and lead the sales team (2 field reps + 1 office rep)
  • Set and monitor call/visit targets and conversion rates
  • Develop sales strategies, track KPIs
  • Train team in sales and product knowledge
  • Maintain relationships with key clients; visiting 10-15 clients, twice a year
  • Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to HQ
  • Lead generation and marketing activities
  • Attend relevant shows and represent the company externally

SALES GENERAL MANAGER IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Essential

  • Business development & account growth experience
  • Strong sales orientation with proven experience in industrial tool sales
  • Direct experience in diamond tools, particularly with core products such as:

- Core Drill / Wall Saw / Floor Saw

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desirable/Preferred

  • Familiarity with accounting systems (optional, but preferred)

  • Self-motivated, proactive, professional
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and commercially aware
  • Problem-solving and negotiation ability
