Our client, a leader in Missile and Defence and the UK's trusted partner to the Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Senior Export Contract Manager. The successful candidate will report to the Export Contract Management UK Executive and will possess a comprehensive and profound set of commercial, financial, and project management skills to lead and deliver complex and strategically significant export contracts..

As a Senior Export Contract Manager, the successful candidate will join the Programmes Export Operations Directorate, bringing their expertise and experience as an accomplished Export Contract Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial interface with international government and military customers for contract delivery up to the 1* level.
  • Manage multiple cross-domain and geographically diverse contracts, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering strong relationships.
  • Resolve contract delivery issues through risk and opportunity management.
  • Lead customer acceptance events and manage transport delivery solutions.
  • Capture contractual payments.
  • Handle communications with customers, government and industrial partners, and internally within the company.
  • Lead contract amendment negotiations.
  • Support Sales & Business Development in acquiring new international business.
  • Collaborate with the client's national companies (NATCO) in France, Spain, and Italy to deliver Inter Company Trading export contracts.

What do you need?:

  • Exceptional leadership, influencing, and relationship management skills to establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Proven ability to define, communicate, and implement strategic intent, with extensive experience operating in complex political environments.
  • An experienced manager with a proven track record of leading contract delivery through both the bid and execution phases, ideally within an international environment.
  • You will need a high degree of self-motivation and drive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with an open, confident, and clear leadership style, are essential.
  • Experience in people management and leading internal and external stakeholder relationships in a leadership role.
  • Be prepared for international travel with an open mind to embrace different cultures.
  • Experience in preparing and authorising bid submissions, ideally with exposure in the role of Business Bid Authority.
  • Experience of working in large complex organisations (preferably multi-national) with experience of collaborating with Corporate Functions; new business; finance; legal; customer support; export control; project management; quality; shipping; engineering; corporate compliance.
