A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a senior engineer to exploit their safety, reliability and system engineering skills to influence aspects of technically sophisticated and exciting products.

This role typically requires 3 days per week onsite due to workload classification.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The opportunity:

You will influence systems as they develop from concept to delivery, gaining first-hand experience working with military partners. By understanding the system and its operating context, you will balance time and cost constraints to ensure a convincing safety case and/or reliability case is constructed, supported by appropriate evidence for customer satisfaction.

For safety, this involves optimising safety assurance effort, balancing safety against the inherently lethal attributes required of complex weapon systems. For reliability, you will ensure a lean but effective reliability programme is delivered through progressive assurance.

You’ll join a team with a strong pedigree in safety and reliability engineering within a company that maintains an excellent safety culture. The role offers varied international project work, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of the technologies involved.

What we’re looking for from you:

• Detailed understanding and experience of how hazard analysis and safety evaluation integrate with system engineering processes

• Ability to deliver supporting documentation such as Safety Case Reports, Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, FTA, FMECA, reliability prediction, etc.

• Full appreciation that reliability is more than a number, with experience in reliability planning, analysis and testing during development

• Proven knowledge and experience applying UK and International system engineering processes

• Good knowledge of complex electronic systems and associated safety and reliability issues

• Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, capable of working in multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good verbal and written communication

• Ideally degree qualified or equivalent
