About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and nurse-qualified Nursing Home Manager to lead a well-established, 37-bed nursing home in the Suffolk region. We are seeking a committed leader to continue providing high-quality care in a warm and person-centred environment.

You will be responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of the home, which provides complex care for elderly residents including dementia, physical disability, and long-term health conditions. The home benefits from a close-knit, supportive team and a positive care culture shaped around dignity, wellbeing, and respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management of all aspects of the home, ensuring the highest standards of clinical and residential care.
  • Lead the home's skilled team of nurses, carers, and support staff with professionalism and integrity.
  • Maintain and improve compliance with CQC regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, occupancy, staffing levels, and resources effectively.
  • Lead on audits, care planning, risk management, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Build strong working relationships with residents, families, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies.
  • Drive staff development through training, appraisals, and mentorship.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including quality, safety, finance, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure all care documentation and medication practices meet required standards.
  • Promote innovation and best practice in elderly and specialist care.

Requirements

  • Valid NMC PIN - RGN or RMN (active registration)
  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a nursing home setting
  • At least 3 years' management experience in the same or similar role - no job hoppers
  • Strong IT literacy, including experience with electronic care planning systems
  • Sound financial acumen with experience in business planning and budget management
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, infection control, and CQC frameworks
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Calm, confident, and emotionally intelligent leadership style
