On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an Electrical Architect on an initial 6 - month contract. As the Electrical Architect you will be responsible in all aspects of missile development, from the early concept studies to series production and in-service support

Role: Electrical Architect
Pay: 60 - 85 per hour Umbrella
Location: Stevenage, Bristol or Bolton
Contract: Monday- Friday, 37 Hours per week, 6 Months Contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: SC will be required however can start on BPSS

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own the electrical architecture and requirements for missile/launcher systems.
  • Define interfaces between subsystems (ICDs, characteristics, constraints).
  • Build the power architecture (budgets, profiles, distribution).
  • Define data comms/processing architecture and system interconnects.
  • Set EMC, bonding, grounding, screening and signal safety requirements.
  • Support integration, test, compatibility checks, qualification and fault-finding.
  • Produce/review technical reports, processes, and guidelines.
  • Perform design assessments and analysis to support compliance and safety.
  • Work to defence/industry standards and support design reviews.


Essential Experience

  • Degree-level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrable experience in electrical/electronic engineering within complex engineered systems.
  • Experience defining and managing system requirements (systems engineering approach).
  • Strong capability in defining electrical interfaces and producing/maintaining Interface Control documents (ICDs).
  • Experience producing clear, structured technical documentation and reports.
  • Working knowledge of relevant defence and/or industry engineering standards (e.g., EMC, safety, grounding, bonding, design assurance).
