My client is a Wealth Management firm located in Stevenage, offering independent financial advice to both private and corporate clients for over sixty years.
My client is looking for a trainee Paraplanner to join their well-established team of professionals. The desired candidate must have experience of report writing and will ideally be partially qualified with a couple of years minimum spent in the industry.
Role Purpose:
To undertake paraplanning duties as part of my clients regional team.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of clients' financial situations, including their income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and financial goals. This analysis may involve using financial planning software and tools to create detailed financial plans.
Report Preparation: Prepare comprehensive financial planning reports, including investment analysis, retirement planning, risk management, tax planning, and estate planning. These reports should be tailored to meet the specific needs and objectives of each client. - experience of using Genovo report writing software would be an advantage
Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information, clarify their financial goals and objectives, and explain the details of their financial plans.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the financial services industry, ensuring that all financial plans and recommendations adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines.
Research and Due Diligence: Conduct research on various financial products, investment options, and strategies to support the development of sound financial plans. This may involve evaluating investment opportunities, analysing market trends, and assessing the performance of different asset classes.
Recommendation Support: Assist financial planners in developing suitable investment recommendations and strategies based on clients' risk tolerance, time horizon, and financial objectives. This may include asset allocation modelling, investment selection, and portfolio construction.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, financial plans, recommendations, and other relevant documentation. Ensure that all client files and records are organised and up-to-date, in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in the financial services industry, including changes in regulations, tax laws, investment products, and financial planning strategies. Pursue ongoing education and professional certifications to enhance skills and knowledge.
Knowledge skills and experience:
Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail - essential
Part qualified desirable / minimum 2 years’ experience as a junior paraplanner, must have some experience of basis report writing / would consider a strong financial services administrator looking to progress.
Knowledge of iO ,Excel and other research, analysis and data management tools - essential
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines - essential
A team player - essential
Good communication both verbal and written - essential
Broad knowledge of the financial services sector - desirable

A competitive salary of up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
This is a hybrid role, and you will be required to work a minimum of two days per week in the office (post probation), you may be required to work full time in the office initially, whilst your initial training is caried out. My client operates a 35 hour week.
